"I was so sick at the beginning of my pregnancy that I had no interest in researching various childbirth options, so I was just going to wing it... But, after talking to my sister- and brother-in-law at the holidays, I decided to look into unmedicated childbirth and to look for doulas in our area. My sister-in-law had her 2nd and 3rd children without medication and used a doula and raved about her experiences. This was definitely the best advice I got while pregnant. Doing it without medication was the best decision I've ever made and I couldn't have made it through without Amy. Preparation was key and taking her natural childbirth class gave us the knowledge to be confident when it came time for our daughter to arrive, not panicked. Her presence allowed Matt to support me emotionally and not have to worry about what he was 'supposed' to be doing for me. It also allowed him to anticipate each stage of labor and delivery, know what to expect, and when my resolve to go the distance without medication waivered, he was able to keep me focused on my goal, even while I was in a great deal of pain. Amy's presence while laboring at home and in the hospital was calming and comforting. We've kept in touch and she will be there to help celebrate Elliott's first birthday. She will definitely be present at the birth of our future children, as a birth professional and a friend."

"I hired a doula to provide physical and moral support during my labor as well as educational support for natural childbirth. I found Amy through a family friend's recommendation and immediately formed a friendship and comfort level with her as did my husband. I also hired Amy to provide support to my husband during labor and birth. My birth turned out to be a c-section with some labor before hand and Amy was there by our side in the hospital through it all. Amy also provided emotional and educational support through my c-section surgery and stayed many hours afterward helping me recover. She has also provided excellent postpartum advice and support. I cannot say enough how invaluable she is and how we love her!!"
